Ive got the dump valve off and blocked, with a filter on it it now chatters nicely. With a metal pipe it'll really accentuate it. And the exhaust is nice, but not me. I think ill chop it off just before cat and sidey it under the wheel arch. The grill needs changing for a standard grill. Theres also a chance ill get some coilovers for it. But I'm sure they wont be low enough for me. Something needs to be done though as its too powerful to be this lardy. IT NEEDS TO BE STIFFER! AND LOUDER! AND LOWER!
Other good news is i have tunes in it now. and the speakers arent bad atall. All ready for this weekends road trip.

Put in a 2nd rear arb that apparently helps. Great work BTW. I need some yellow headlights in my life

I need to have a good look under the car actually as all the bushes are worn. I don't even know what the bushes look like. Cheers

Just done a fully loaded run up to york and back, stuck in lots of traffic. The car performed effortlessly I'm quite impressed with it. I still need to sort bits out though. Its niggling away, and I'm not getting the time for it.

Yes actually. After the trip to york it decided to play up and not start again. Sat for a couple of weeks while I scratched my head testing everything. Sorting wiring. Asking gurus on the volvo forum. Lots of ideas as to what could be causing no start symptoms. Turns out the ecu fuse was loose in its socket. I pushed that down and everything sprung to life. Still has a cranking issue, sometimes it will start immediately and sometimes it'll take a couple of seconds. But over the past couple of weeks I lost all patience and even considered selling it. But now its all good again I think ive got to at least get coilovers on it and finish tidying it up. Ive been touching up the black bits and the chrome bits (painting them black) But i have no photos as I'm rubbish. Those who come to the MK meet on friday will get to have a look over it. I'm happy again

This is how low it should be. I just need to carry a ton of rubble around with me every day.

I have made a start on fixing the speedo. Sure enough a snapped planet gear. Before I took the dash apart I also unplugged the carbon canister valve. This made a hell of a difference on boost. So that will all be removed/blocked/blanked. I'm going to replace that. And the icv has a leak on the main inlet to the throttle body. So that will need addressing too. And I have also had a delay on my coilovers. They were sent out with the wrong address and were subsequently sent back to sender...in Germany. So I'm expecting them in the near future now. The little gears have been ordered and it should fix it.

Some work on it today. Removed the perished hose to the boost gauge and whilst I was at it thought id check the hose on the manifold So that was replaced aswell. Teed in the boost gauge ready for when its all fitted. Tightened the icv and removed the carbon canister. Leaving the valve plugged in Should have alot less leaked boost now. Still need to modify the pvc and piping for that. More to come when coilovers and speedo gear arrive. Cheers

Good news. My sportfahrwerkes arrived. Ive had them on my peugeot and thought they were reasonably good and tbh these are twice the size and strength. Yet to fit them. I got tied up tonight, getting this sucker in Tried it out and i have a working odo, yay. The bulbs i got didnt go in easy/work/fill me with joy. So seeing as I'm not driving it at the moment anyway ive bought a set of T5 leds (coincidence on name) that should be here by thursday. I also found some wires on a dash switch that i can tee into for the power for my boost gauge. I'm also going to try a AFR gauge i have aswell, just splicing into the lambda probe. And after taking out alot of split hoses and boost leaks it really shifts now. Much happier.

BEFORE AFTER Didnt get a before pic of the rear but i think he looks much better now Definitely feels like one my cars now, lower and harder. So much better. It all came apart relatively easily which made a nice change. Did the rear without even taking the wheels off. It was so easy. Next on the list is to sort the rear brakes and paint the wheels. Infact the rear needs to come down alot more. Might have to cut a couple of coils off the springs.

Enjoying the sunset. The rear brakes need more investigation, i think the drivers side is fine, its def the passengers side. The internal shoes are either entirely broken, or the cylinder or adjuster have gone, i cant even get the disc off.

To cure my starting issue ive had to investigate in a momentary switch to change the polarity of the crank sensor. So i got a switch First test in the engine bay..........worked! problem solved at long last. Procedure is hold switch down, start car, release switch, drive off. So happy about that. Aldo tried my new grille on, donated by MoleT5-R I got the exhaust off the other day and hated every moment of doing it, and snapped a bolt. The intention was to cut the cat out and rear box leaving a straight through exhaust, but that means changing the cat back for mot time and i really don't want to do that again. So ive put it all back, i will loose the rear box at some point though. I had a go in the car with no exhaust, it sounded ridiculous. I loved it, but within the 1 minute of driving i had thrown exhaust gasses all over the conduit grommet that i had just fed my new starting mechanism wiring through and melted it, so that was pretty annoying. Also it melted the boost gauge pipe, so ive had to replace that aswell. So the finished article in the engine bay taps into the loom connector and looks like this. I need to finish putting the switch in the dash somewhere, it doesnt quite fit into a blank yet, i just need to fit it with a file.
