Yay I passed my CBT today! One step closer! Also yesterday I spent the best part of an hour getting one of the tank badges off and cleaning it up, with the intention of getting Harley-Davidson painted on to it.... This was underneath! I prefer it to the badge but a tank respray may well be on the cards for future.

The only restriction is cash this close to Christmas, as I'm over 25 and have a full car licence I can do the lot as quickly as I like, but it's expensive Now the list of things to do is; Theory £23, then I'll probably just go for the direct access course which is a further £627 and includes all my test fees to complete my full licence. Although I think I may have to wait till January so I'm trying to think of a way to get some practice in without spending more money.

Ah right, thanks.
Didn't realise it had got so dear now, but I suppose they expect to turn out half decent riders, so fair enough.
Having seen the process here, it's no wonder half the bikes (and their riders) spend most of their time on the floor!

Haha, what's the testing like where you are? I passed my theory test this morning, 50 out of 50 correct on the questions too so chuffed with that! I've also got two lessons booked 10th and 11th of December and my first test on the 15th. I also get to learn on a Harley which is fab although he said if it's wet we'll be swerve testing on something else as the Harley's aren't fab round tight corners lol. Fingers crossed for decent weather, I've picked a great time of year to learn haha.

Fingers crossed for decent weather, I've picked a great time of year to learn haha. Nice one on the theory. Here? You do a theory also, which I had to do for inexplicable reasons when I transferred from a valid UK licence to a Philippine one. The full and sorry story is here. retrorides.proboards.com/thread/163103/letter-manila-fun-run?page=26Anyway, the theory was sprung on me but I obviously passed as they didn't try to gouge the White Guy for passing when failed, if you get me. Anyway, the motorbike practical consisted of riding around a yard, the size of a small primary school playground, presumably without falling off or hitting one of the hundreds of people milling around the licencing centre. In fact, here it is. The yard is circled and you get an idea of size from passing cars. "Congrats, you've passed, now go and get crushed by a jeepney because no-one told you what a red traffic light means." Seems that there are now an average of 66 motorcycle accidents a day in Metro Manila, 37% of which are fatal. Put it this way, here you could buy your Harley today and be the holder of a full licence tomorrow. When Madam took her car test, they didn't give her a practical at all. Put the two facts above together, and you begin to understand driving in the Phils! Best of luck with your first test and ride safe.

Wow that is a complete disregard for anyone's safety. And pretty pointless at that, you may as well just give everyone a licence automatically on their 16th birthday haha. Good story btw. I suppose at least with the size of the yard they have made sure you can do a U turn

I rode a Harley for the first time today! It was brill! I've had only about 4 hours on a 125 in my whole life, before they let me loose on their 883 superlow. We went all the way to Lincoln and back, which is an hour each way, so not a small trip. It was great apart from being too cold lol.
I've done all my practice for my MOD1 now as well on a different bike, so bring on the test on Thursday! Woo!

I passed! 2 minors on my emergency stop for reacting a little late (I got carried away accelerating) and one for stalling (never managed to not stall on an emergency stop whilst being watched yet haha) So now just one more day with an instructor left which is on the 4th when my mod2 is booked for
