Can't wait to build it. Hopefully move in around September time. Might just be a temporary car port for this winter.
I'm thinking of building it from uni strut. Dunno if that would be a good idea though.

Dunno if that would be a good idea though. I love Unistrut  Sort of adult Meccano. I use it for all sorts of things. My new shed / workshop is being built out of scaffolding and KeeKlamps for the very basic framework then Unistrut added with saddle clamps before being clad in the outer panels and inner lining. It's not cheap however for a large project but available secondhand. |

I use unistrut at work a lot, I'd possibly get some of it that's left over from from jobs, couple lengths here or there should have enought. There's quite a lot on ebay, I'd probably need roughly 10 3 meter lengths. Zebs 10mm bolts and washers the the angle brackets and things to connect it up, then couple plywood or plastics roof sheets. Should have a basic structure done |

I'd love to cut the tree down and stick a double garage but, I'm getting £1500 cash back on the mortgage. £500 for me to spend £500 for her to spend and £500 on bits for the house. I'll be spending most of mine on the garage. Thanks for the ideas and advice. Will post a few pics when I get to start building it. Hi, financially speaking. That £1500 is your money and it's not free, you will be paying interest on it for the next 25 years. So you should repay it off the capital. You would be better off taking out a short term loan for frittering away on necessities.  I do realise that senior management won't be too chuffed. Colin A mortgage is the cheapest loan you can get so I personally would just over pay slightly. I would use a 4x2 frame and plastic corrugate but not the mini stuff as its very weak. That's what I did for my lean to. Will be building a large garage soon but it helps being a landscaper as I get materials trade |
