Hey folks, I've thought for a while about this, I don't want to divide down the forums too regionally, but I realised that the site is very Europe focused and it would be nice if our American friends had a place to enjoy their retro dreams, all makes, older models, drag racing to drifting, low riding to offroading, we're here for all that good stuff. So hopefully we can find some more like minded Americans, organise some friendly meet and greets. Obviously we'd love your cars in Readers Rides, but events, introductions, for sales etc. are more local to the American dream so feel free to post them up in here. Lets see how this goes. If anyone fancies helping spread the word, like a televangelist, but without the dodgy financial dealings, then give us a shout HoTWire

Nice! Now all you need is for Leo the social butterfly (SVT2888) to spread the word and this forum will explode in no time .

Excellent Idea. RR is an amazing place. The states have many forums where you'll find talented car guys, but the European forums are just chock full of more nice, friendlier people. People that encourage one another and compliment each other. Europeans always offer up unbiased opinions and offer to share their knowledge, with nothing more than friendly banter expected in return.
In the US online communities, it's rarely that way. I prefer to be involved with people of the caliber that you'll often find on this and most other European boards. I'm sure other Americans feel similar.
Great job, great place and awesome European cars!

I agree. it seems as though the younger generation of American car enthusiasts have not been raised by parents but rather by wolves. I mod a small VR4 site with many knowledgeable members. but it seems the times are changing and the in my book, "True gear heads" are leaving the forums.

I think you may be right, but hoping you are a bit wrong, I know in my day job that there is evidence that forums are on the rise again as people are seeing the limits of usefulness in Instagram and Facebook type conversations ... hopefully if we make welcoming and useful places for them to come to they will find roots and flourish, building better and more interesting cars Either way it is nice to have you here ehmotorsports ... I believe we have another member or two in Oregon.

I know that from connecting with petrolheads from across the globe, our lives have been enriched. Happy New Year !!

Greetings from north west ohio! Cold and calling for 3-6 inches of snow tomorrow, warm enough today to work in the barn though. Love to see more N/America action here. Seems to be quite a few Ohio guys in here hahaha. I'm new too, found the board through a maserati yahoo group I'm with, one of them posted Grenade's build. Hope to contribute, I'm quite a bit more into bikes than cars anymore, but have a couple of classics I'm slowly working with r107 450sl and a biturbo maserati. Look forward to talking to you all!

So is this where I introduce myself?
I've been lurking for a while, been really enjoying the mojo boost. Found the site through the Thames Campervan rebuild thread. I'll probably start a blog thread in Readers Rides soon, but felt like I ought to say hello first.
I'm in Tennessee, near Nashville. I'm fascinated by all the cars we didn't get here in the states, thought people over yonder might be interested in some of my junk that never got over there...
