You can buy a new Heritage shell, so surely you can legally use the "remains" of that car on the new shell?

You can buy a new Heritage shell, so surely you can legally use the "remains" of that car on the new shell? You can legally build the remains into the shell THEN sell it (even in this case not enough remains of the original car), however under no circumstances can you sell the ID and V5C without a complete undamaged chassis or shell.

Possible not technically illegal because there is actually the remains of a car in this instance. However have frequently seen just docs and VIN plates on ebay for Mk1 Escorts and Mini Coopers which is basically an invitation to build a 'ringer' which is totally illegal. Suspect you'd have to prove 'intent' though. Seems Ebay turn a blind eye or give benefit of the doubt and collect their fees . . .

You don't think that possibly, just possibly, that the seller had Googled 'really rusty mini'?

Except the seller doesn't have a shell to sell does he? Thats why he won't post a picture of what is actually left and keeps going about a waste carriers licence being neccessary to remove it. That photo on the advert isn't even taken in England - looks more like Aus.

I for one am really disappointed. I was hoping to see pics of a really naughty car. Like this one for exampleAnyway, in order to spoil everyone's fun I've reported the item to Ebay so I'm sure they'll take it down soon.

Yeh it's a bit naughty but not very, i've sold similar, once dragged a Mk1 shell out of a garage in 3 parts (stored in a flooded garage for 7 years !! ) guy i sold it too reshelled it leagaly using a new shell, as for it needs to be a compleat and undamaged chassis or shell, BS, every day insurance write offs get sold damaged.

Well rescued with the GTO Aw shucks, thanks Boss. Sadly I think it was too little too late to save this. But I'll keep trying.

On a chasis number topic..... I bought My car and got the little new owner log book slip, and all the details are correct. But i never got a new log book so I'm guessing the old owner didn't bother. It also came with an MOT certificate that all the details match, but the car definitely wouldn't have passed when i bought it! :/ also the miles were less on the latest MOT certificate than the past two!!!! But the cars "chasis number" plate has been removed..... Is there a way of applying for a new chasis number?or use the chasis number on the MOT certificate to get a new log book? Or am i screwed? ??
