My old Metro InterCity: 11 stud 1430 A+, MED hooj-valve head, MED scatter cam, ultralight flywheel, etc, etc. MED quickshift. Peco Big Bore 4 exiting through the sill in front of the NSR wheel. Lowered (properly) until it would go no further, then lowered some more. 13" 100+ rims with 165/60 NCT's. Polished ally Metro Challenge cage. Loads more, but this was about 13 years ago and the memory has faded... Dale

Are the GTi/GTa's actually any good? Like, are they reasonably quick out of the box or are they all show and no go? They're suitably rare and as long as they don't lose a traffic light battle to a moped I think it's time to start looking into them

The GTi's are really rapid and as far as I know the GTa's are no slouches either.

The GTi's are really rapid and as far as I know the GTa's are no slouches either. 8.6 seconds to 60, and they look fairly reasonably priced. Certainly compared to, say, a Polo GT which thanks to scene tax is slower by about a second, and twice the price.

metro gti's gta's are quick enough even stock! remeber all the caterham & elise stuff fits them engine wise! there are some pushing 220+hp
did'nt the some of the last rover 75's have the 1.8 kseries petrol with a turbo, called the 1.8 t i think, 150hp stock, wack that in ya metro & up the boost, plent enough for years to beat alot of cars on the trackdays/sprints/hillclimbs/dragstrips & frontWD
