I am being.
Don't bother too much with the trade stands etc (of which there are plenty with prices to match the environment) but go and ogle all the cool old cars that will be there. Both the top 'F1' paddock and the more hidden away Cathedral Paddock should already be brimming with machinery - and the concours patch too. Many of those you are unlikely to see anywhere else.

I think, therefore I am being
Best motorsport show on the planet, bar none.
The Thursday won't have any hillclimb runs but most of the cars will be assembled in the paddocks for static viewing. The moving motorshow thing leaves me a bit cold cos it's manufacturers showing off their latest models. If they were going to let me take their La Ferrari up the hillclimb on a test drive it'd be more engrossing but I guess they'd want a copy of my Black Amex before that'd happen, so that's me knackered, lol

dbizzle - those are some quality photos, pretty much shows everything you need to know about the Festival of Speed!!
in response to the OP, it is awesome to watch the cars go up the hill, however, the moving motor show is basically a demo day for new cars, there will not be much real "action" on the track... However, there will be a load of (expensive) trade stands and hopefully a few packed paddocks of various different ages of (superb) car to ogle... Take a camera, and a brolly to keep the sun off, and leave off visiting the trade stands - wear good walking shoes :-)

Looks a great day, would of preferred to go when the hill was in full swing but I was given the ticket .
Just realised it opens at 7am and it's a good two hour drive from here! Must get to sleep

I was being back in the late 90s. Was OK but a bit like Henley Regatta on wheels. Lots of very snotty posh people saying "Yah" alot and shouting at Jonty and Jacasta.
Now the Revival................. that's a superb event.

The weather on the Sunday was awful but I was cheered up when my old girl won its class. And when I had to go and collect my award it was nice to see Gordon Murray (a judge that year) give me the thumbs up, top chap.

Now the Revival................. that's a superb event. Funny my experience of both events was exactly the opposite way around. FOS seemed very much for petrol folk and the Revival was kind of a carnival fancy dress Ascot type affair. I very much enjoyed both. The Goodwood Members Meeting also looks pretty good so I hope to go to that next year, not been to a FOS or Revival for a few years due to time constraints.

Are those from this year? I hadn't heard there were any rods this time, usually Custom Car flags up when there's the likelihood of any relevant content there.
The 39/40 Mercury is V V V nice, but then again virtually everything at Goodwood is.
