Location : North-East / Tyneside ( various, but normally walking distance from Newcastle)
Retro/Interesting Cars Owned : current ride is a 70s Hunter Estate (before that was a 60s Triumph 2000 Estate / 90s AX rustbucket - you get the idea ) retrorides.proboards.com/thread/88892
Shows Regularly Attended : Not my thing but willing to make exceptions for NERC, Swainby, NE Bacon Butty (@ Res Chevazon), RRG
Instagram, Twitter, Facebook pages : No thanks / no exceptions.
What are you hoping to do here: Get help keeping random old bangers classic 60s/70s/80s dailies on the road. Pick up inspiration, offer advice (sometimes sensible - sometimes not so ), May be on the lookout for a new project in a couple of months to use as a daily / promo vehicle (could be tempted by a larger 60s/70s/50s Estate )
Anything else we should know?: I've been into 60s/70s/80s motors for many years (including a selection of 60s Fords), have been having fun for the last few years giving unloved tat a new lease of life to use as an odd-ball daily Looking to set up as a self employed plaster *very* soon and expecting to use the Hunter Estate as a promo daily workhorse Other interests include tinkering (cars, bikes, houses, radios, anything ), 70s/80s motorbikes & minibikes

Instagram, Twitter, Facebook pages : don't do twitter or instsgram never bothered with a work FB one. everyone seems to know how to find my personal one if they need to.
What are you hoping to do here: stuff. and things. supplimented by lurking in the corner and correcting peoples grammar/spelling/factual inaccuracies in a pedantic fashion. I'm only temping at this though to fill in when dan isn't online.
Anything else we should know?: i run a hot rod shop/machine shop/general fab business called stringer fabrication. if you can think of something automotive related, i can probably do it, erring more toward traditional stuff these days though- roof chops, chanelling, engine swaps, exhausts, coilover conversions, airbagging, hydros, banded steels, adapters.
Location : Leeds Retro/Interesting Cars Owned: 1980 Porsche 924 & 1982 Toyota Corolla Coupe (Readers-rides in Sig). (Also 2 Peugeot 309's but they look dead and don't work. I'm currently ignoring them and suggest you do too!) Shows Regularly Attended : The only show I have attended so far is The Gathering... RRG09 With the Porsche, back when it worked. RRG11 In the Toyota on the way back from picking it up in Greece. RRG12 Toyota again. RRG13 Toyota again. RRG14 !?! I wanted to be in the Porsche again but time to get it working & MOT'd is slipping away. I occasionally go to the Leeds Cruise monthly meet.
Social media : not my thing.
What are you hoping to do here: See cool cars. Absorb some motivation so I can keep motivated with my projects and in the process hopefully help others feel motivated too. See cool cars. Anything else we should know?: Err, I'm not really hiding anything, much, honest, MUHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Retro/Interesting Cars Owned: Currently my BMW E36 328i sport, been dormant for a few years
Shows Regularly Attended : not been to any recently, when the kids are more interested maybe, I did get the Mrs to All types VW show once, and Ultimate dubs which she hated, so need to find one she might like. I used to go to Oulton Park frequently with my Dad.
Social media : instagram @ian20vt
What are you hoping to do here: I love a good build thread which highlights my poor quality of work
Anything else we should know?: I work as a Quantity Surveyor for a high end joinery manufacturer in Manchester, and wish I could drive a retro to work, but 600 miles a week wouldnt be good!
Not particuarly Retro/Interesting Car Owned : Nissan Micra K11 - Thread linked in my sig. Previously another K11 (also covered by that thread). Prior to that a brace of W123 Mercs and some automotive detritus in the shape of a couple of Fiat 126's, a Citroen Visa and a few Mk2 Polos.
Shows Regularly Attended : Retro Rides Gathering, Retro Show (though not this year!), Goodwood Revival, Southern Classics events.
Instagram, Twitter, Facebook pages : I have a personal FB page
What are you hoping to do here: See and share pictures of cool cars, hang out with virtually and in the real world, some folk who don't feel the need to ask why my car is too low to get into work easily, refer to it a "suped-up", or who think that one set of wheels is adequate.
Anything else we should know?: I teach D&T/Engineering in a secondary school and like to occasionally play with the toys on offer to make cool/interesting stuff, mainly but not exclusively from 3mm acrylic on a laser cutter. There's a link to Stuff in my sig below.
Post by Brian Damaged on Jun 24, 2014 20:56:00 GMT
Name : Brian (the Damaged part comes from a 1984 episode of 'The Young Ones', therefore I've been Brian Damaged for some 30 years now)
Location : Bromsgrove, just SW of Birmingham (I can see the M5 from where I'm presently sitting)
Retro/Interesting Cars Owned : Absolutely nothing of interest now, though at almost 50 years old......well, you name it, I've probably owned it. Everything from 2CV's to Range-Rovers. Currently tooling round in a Pug 306DT, can't see that changing anytime soon.
Shows Regularly Attended : RRG, RallyDay, various 'classic' shows if we're not rallying.
What are you hoping to do here: Share the love. Share pics/anecdotes/experience.
Anything else we should know?: Heavily involved in Rallying on both the organisation and competitive sides since I've had a full driver's licence. I was a road rally navigator back in the late 1980's and am returning to the left-hand seat just as soon as the car (a 1981 Mk3 Escort with a 155bhp 2-litre ZVH in it) is finished. Also spanner for a stage rally outfit which has been competing since 2004 and has grown organically to become the current loosely-based social collective known as the Gung-Ho Rally Team, which now draws from a geographical area spreading from the Midlands across into Wales and down into the Thames Valley. We compete with and against one another, help each other out and enjoy an active social life revolving around alcohol and falling over. Just like a traditional motor club only without all the hierarchy and bulls**t. Many of us are well into middle-age now, so quite a few of us have offspring that are also competing. Not me though, I have the blood test results to prove it
I'm also a keen amateur photographer (as some of you may have seen) and am now back playing bass in a rock covers band with some of my workmates.
Retro/Interesting Cars Owned : I have previously owned a 2.8i Capri, a Fiat 500, a Mk2 Fiesta, a Rover 214Si, an E36 BMW 320i Coupe and I used to use a Classic Mini as my daily drive, after a serious accident meant I couldn't work on car as easily I now have a 2012 Toyota GT86...
Shows Regularly Attended : Goodwood Breakfast Club, otherwise anything else I fancy, can get to, and can afford at the time.
Instagram, Twitter, Facebook pages : Nothing interesting to put here...
What are you hoping to do here: Follow the progress of some awesome cars, pick up inspiration for photography projects and generally waste/spend time looking at interesting stuff on the internet!
Anything else we should know?: I always mean to help, sometimes it might not come across like that but if you have a problems with anything I post please just tell me about it and we can go from there! Honesty and openness are the key for me! Along those lines, if someone nearby needs help with a car (classic or otherwise), I'll do my best even if I hardly know them - you just have to ask!
Shows Regularly Attended : Southern Mini Days, Mini in the Park, Retro Show, London to Brighton - This year have been getting better at going to multi marque stuff by attended Wheels Day & Bromley Pagent
What are you hoping to do here : Have been on here for years, mainly for inspiration but as mentioned, I'm getting better at getting out to shows and wouldn't mind meeting up with a few more like minded souls!
Anything else we should know? : I sometimes help out (= get in the way) at ML Motorsport in Higham, Kent as I'm trying to learn more and Andy has been gratuitous enough to indulge me
