Don't think you chaps need to see my fleet of Frenchies again - my 2CV is in the first shot of a Dyane in Shortcuts post anyway! CPUK last summer I believe?
An imaginary prize to the first person to find a pic of a Simca!
Oh and if you love Le Tin de Francais, get to La Vie En Bleu - Prescott Hill Climb, last BH weekend in May. Trying to decide between that and the 2CV 24hr race at Snetterton but I think the lure of a Veyron going up the hill in Gloucs may just tip it!

I had the diesel engined one of those for a few months it was the best van i've ever driven. Did silly mpg (high 50s) and had so much torque it was great. It'd done 212,000 miles when I aquired it and I gave it to a mate and it had 234,000 miles on. He took it up to 275,000 miles when somebody in a 306 aquaplaned into him on a motorway and wrote it off. I also had my clio lol but that wasnt old or retro. Matt

Not really, I think you are right in some ways Dave. A Pug 406 for example is not exciting to look at. But despite the 'blandness' it is a far prettier and more balanced styling exercise than a Mongdeo say, and still drives much better too. That said the current crop of pugs with the funny wide mouth are pretty fugly. 100% with you on this - the 406 is the last of the classy looking Pugs. However the current stuff makes me want to barf Couldn't agree more MrH. The 406 coupe in particular is a beautiful car. The other thing is that modern French stuff is seriously unreliable, particularly in the case of Peugeot & Renault. Compare the 205 and the 206, or the 306 and the 307, and the newer cars are sh1t compared to the 80s and 90s stuff.

Are you saying that a peugeot 205 is reliable lol. My mate had one at the same time as I had my clio and it literally fell to bits under normal use.
The 306 is lots better however
