I'll give one and lets see what you can bring to it. The Volvo 300 series was not a Volvo design and was not designed to have a manual gearbox. This is why they have a rear mounted transaxle. The designs for the car that became the 343 came to Volvo with their purchase of the DAF car division and are in fact a very simply tweaked and uglified version of Project P900 which was the prototype version of the then upcoming DAF 77 In the bottom picture the DAF prototype is on top and the bottom is the Volvo 343 they are mighty similar.

The 'F' in ERF (lorry makers) stands for Foden, another lorry maker. I believe there was a split in the family and ER went off on his own to form ERF.

The Porsche 911 was originally called the 901.
The name was changed when, in 1964 Peugeot objected to Porsche using any three digit number where the middle number was 0, asserting ownership of the naming rights in key markets, and having already sold many models with that scheme.
So, Porsche simply replaced the middle 0 with a 1, and called the car Porsche 911.
This also affected two other models which were renamed as follows.
Porsche 904 as Carrera GTS Porsche 906 as Carrera 6

There was another thread on here similar to this a while back, but it's always good to wheel out the facts again. The Renault 4 features a shorter wheelbase on the left than the right. I bet Pope doesn't know that.

Ford offered the Sierra Cosworth in only three colours, Diamond White, Moonstone Blue and Black. However, one Rosso Red example was made at the factory in Belgium for Ford UK. It was registered on the 11th November 1986 and initially used for press and publicity before being loaned on a long-term basis to the Duke of Bedford who is alleged to have requested a red example and triggered its build. It was sold at a Ford-dealer ‘closed auction’ to well-known racing driver Vince Woodman on the 13th December 1988 with 31,140 miles on the clock. He then used the car regularly, doubling its mileage, before retiring it to his collection of fast Fords. It still comes out occasionally to shows.

The Reliant Scimitar GTE was the first ever car to have split folding rear seats
The early Porsche 928s were more aerodynamic going backwards than forwards

The Reliant Scimitar GTE was the first ever car to have split folding rear seats Think I'd dispute that - the Imp Californian was launched in '67 and has split-fold rear seats.

The 'F' in ERF (lorry makers) stands for Foden, another lorry maker. I believe there was a split in the family and ER went off on his own to form ERF. Foden made steam lorries before belatedly turning to diesels. Eric R Foden wanted to produce the new-fangled diesel lorries but was stopped by his elders. He formed his own firm using his initials, E.R.F. in protest.

Audi is a latin conjugation of "to listen".
August Horch founded Horch motors, only to be kicked out. He was barred from using the Horch name in any new firm. Horch in german means "Hark" or "hear", so he named the new firm "listen", or Audi in latin.
the two firms were finally recosiled during the 1930's as parts of Auto Union (who's symbol was the four interlocking rings) before becoming a part of VW group.
Ferdinand Porsche designed the VW beetle. He also designed the Auto Union mid engined race cars of the 1930's, which he called his "locomotives". His son, Ferry Porsche formed the car company which bears the family name.
The OHC engine was inventd by a Swiss man, Ernst Henry

The Camaro was originally going to be called the "Panther". Chevrolet even had the molds made for the emblems, but then changed their minds at the last minute.

The Capri only has the iconic reverse 'D' rear window added at the last moment after folks at Ford found things a tad to 'enclosed' in the back seat area of the pre-production Capri's... Where would the Capri have been without that trademark design 'echo' that lasted right through to the end of production...?!
