Recently I worked on the interior. I improved the interior light by replacing the dull bulb with a Chinese LED chip.
A door contact was fitted at the passenger door (there was none), I also had to run a wire from right to left. As a nice addition I made this:
It's a self made delay for the interior light - if you shut the door, the light stays on about ten seconds ant then fades out softly. And when I say "self made", I mean it: PCB etched and drilled, parts soldered, built in an enclosure, made a label and so on.
Next point on my list were the door cards. The old ones were dirty, warped and mouldy, so they had to go. At least I could use them as templates for the new ones. I covered them with faux leather and the same fabric I already used for the seats.
And with speakers!
This was also a good opportunity to disassemble the doors, clean the windows and the seals, grease the mechanism, fight some rusty spots and making new foils.
