From evo: 'Under the surface, the basics sound (almost) spot on. At 4.1m long, 1.7m wide and 1.3m high, the IDx is practically identical in size to the GT86, while the promise of little turbocharged petrol engines – from 1.2 to 1.5 litres in size – sounds like the ideal way to power a lightweight rear-driven coupe. The only fly in the ointment – hence that ‘almost’ – is Nissan twinning these powerplants with CVT transmissions, though a European-spec production car would hopefully receive the sensible addition of a proper manual gearbox.'

Let's hope they make it, then I can buy one in 15 years time when they are cheap & I'm having a midlife crisis lol.

I kind of like it, but it looks a bit 'slabby'... But isn't that the point in the current climate of jelly mould mundanity? Hmm, yes and no. Certain manufacturers have made some stunning cars recently, without resulting to the bland melted look. I'm just not a fan of the folded paper looks. The BRZ and FRZ, which we are led to believe are going to be its competitors, are both far better looking in my eyes. Just a personal thing.

oooh... interior, yes, yes and yes again ..far far better than the GT86 ... I had a test drive in one of those and quite liked it, it didn't REALLY make an impression though, I would just contemplate one as a hack at some point I think, I know this Nissan is only a concept at the moment but by God its hawt.... if they produce it as it is, I really may have to do something I've never done in my life before and buy a new car..

btw, that denim interior up there ^^^ is from the four-seater Freeflow, thus: Cheers, couldnt find any pics of the Nismo one yesterday, both look awesome & they should just make it as it is. We are in the furture now, about time things looked more futuristic (ironic that it's retro looking I know)

I'm a bit of a ar$e when it comes to Hybrids, I will not let them out at junctions, for the simple reason it doesnt cost them any money to wait another 10 minutes... You beast! I love it I'm in a Civic Type-R...No-one lets me out anyway.

Aha, good to see this old thread bumped up again! I saw the two concepts close-up at last year's Festival of Speed: DSC_2256 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_2254 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_2260 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_2257 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_2258 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_2255 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_2261 by dbizzle_, on Flickr DSC_2263 by dbizzle_, on Flickr joem83 - what have you heard about production? I heard that the IDx idea had been canned, as Nissan are focusing more on mainstream and less on niche...
