Firstly, apologies for phone quality photography.
Second, thanks to Mrs Panda Matt for the assistance and first 3 photos.
Deep breath...
Mrs. PM's photos on the way to work:
Island reg'd bug
Interesting colour scheme on the van - I think it used to be a local builder's yard one
Island reg'd apparently 70's lurid orange mini
I've been cycling to work recently, but the cycle path is being re-built, which meant I got this jag spotted as a pleasant surprise on the diversion:
Micra also on the diversion:
On the industrial estate around work:
Fabulous 2-tone suzuki swift
Great condition MR2
Awesomely intimidating tow-truck:
(that bumper can't be standard can it?!?)
Was in Ryde the other day, so snapped a pic of both hovercraft:
Freedom 90 -
A retro-ride from 1983, and her sister craft:
Island Traveller - another API-88/100
My good friend Dan was on the scrounge for some bits for his 306, so off we scampered to the local metal recyclers one lunchtime, only to find:
Citroen CX Safari (Mrs PM is very sad at the dead safari
)
Isuzu Piazza! We found out this is actually in 'storage' for one of the local banger racers. It actually looked in very good nick from a distance - it was piled on a heap of precariously balanced scrap that made it difficult to get close.
Bembridge harbour turned up this little beauty (no idea what it is, other than a motorbike but I like it!):
Also in the area was this stunning find:
Although the weeds growing through the wheels suggest the sunny may be no longer a daily drive...
Next up, in Newport, on the same day, in the same carpark (Morrisons):
and...
(the driver in the car was looking at me funny, hence the spy-shot)
also spotted was this T25 syncro (4wd)- how many of these were ever made?
Better view of ground clearance:
and battered land-cruiser/mum's shopping wagon:
(tiniest woman imaginable got out of this with kids in tow)
Sitting in Halt-fords car park was this Pao:
A visit to a local farm - contact given as a friendly place that might be car-storage friendly (but too expensive for me) turned up this:
Cortina based Morgan kit
But I found the mini excavator thingy much more interesting!
In the yard were these CToW:
Series 1(?) and later model awaiting Tdi transplant
Slightly cheating, but last Sunday I was actually travelling back from a funeral oop norf.
Before I left, tried fitting ludicrous wheels to my brother's Panda:
-didn't really work - wheels for sale/swap for smaller ones!
Also stopped off at a good friends house (another Dan) to see how he was getting on:
70's camper is awaiting monster engine swap (2.1)
Skoda estate is for sale - MoT due in April, needs new exhaust but otherwise pukka, first £200 gets the car.
Project bug has been at project status for a while.
Dan also owns this hard as nails 924:
And his missus' bug:
On the motorway on the way back - by the RAC building:
And on the ferry on the way over to the island was this slightly flawed LWB quattro (apologies for pic quality but space and light is awkward)
(that exhaust grates on me somewhat)
Random reaction-spots:
Newport high-street - that's gotta be worth a few £
Also in Newport
Escy and bay window camper in the background
Totland bay:
'Hoodride'
Yarmouth (plenty of cash round here):
eye-wateringly blue 928
Finally, went out for tea tonight down on the river, to be greeted by this beautifully colour-coordinated Seat Marbella and dinky Daihatsu (Domino?):
