the Volvo was a real underrated car, I think it was only the explosion of the drift scene, that had people searching for cheap rwd motors.
as a result they lost their granddad image and became very kool. this was indeed my introduction to the world of Volvos back in 2010.
i have seen a good example nowadays advertised for between 1-2k whereas before they could be fetched for as little as £50.
unfortunately a lot of them fall prey top the rust bug, and good clean examples are very hard to find.
the ease and variety of motor swaps, cheap parts, and general fun of these little cars make them very appealing as a retro classic. I'm surprised they didn't reach the kool status sooner.
