	Has anyone got any experience of Philips head units? Halfrauds have a pretty good deal on a cem3100 but I'm struggling to find any reviews... Basically I want a cheap-ish, decent, front input cd player with a sub output too. Sound quality and restrained looks over lairiness and powah! Cheers

	Go to a proper car stereo shop and ask them, tell them what your budget is and they may even have something higher end second hand or refurbed.
	Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

	Get a midrange alpine, pioneer or something else you find good reviews about used of ebay or a car audio shop, especially if you're after sound quality over 130954 coloured pulsating strobe lights. Classifieds in car audio forums are a good bet too. edit - I found a review on halfords own site about the stereo in question, which quite nicely sums up all my personal supermarket-hifi experiences "The best-looking from a bunch of hideous of radios, the rest of which look as though they've been designed by someone high on amphetamines with zero aesthetic sense. Even so, this radio is still visually offensive, as its display panel insists on scrolling useless information in a variety of ghastly colours - a "function" it seems impossible to switch off. Not overly impressed by the audio quality either."
