You'll never guess why she's called bump Thought I would start a thread as I have a few plans now! First of all will be to fix this.... It's not really too bad though and shouldn't take long Once that's done we're off to Le Mans so I'm a bit skint till we get back but I plan to replace the front wings and drivers door for un-dented versions, roller the car PRU Blue and tint the lights. Tidy up the interior with some nice gaiters and a Sony head unit from my old car. And I plan to paint the wheels black with a polished rim and spokes. It has a nice Jasma Manifold and exhaust so it already sounds great. It does already have an induction kit but I have a genuine K&N as big as my head off my old Supra so I'm going to try and fit that if it will go it set me back £150 so I'll be damned if I don't get to use it! It's a really fast little car I think someone has already done the 14 degree timing mod and it just leaves my mates mx5's for dust! On my list of things to buy then... Handbrake and gear lever gaiter with red stitching to match my deep dish wheel Two front wings and a drivers door Some paint and rollers Maybe some spacers to get the wheels sitting closer to the arch lip Oh and does anyone have any tips for re attaching the connector for the heated rear screen? One has fallen off and I don't know how to fix it. Thanks for looking, Mel

Surprisingly un-rusty! When was it imported? My UK '97 Mk1 was much worse Your wheel plans sound cool, I'm glad to see some daisies getting love. I've come to the conclusion wide alloys and MX5's don't mix. Post a picture of the bit of wiring you mean, I may be able to help.

Thanks I am fond of the daisies. Wide wheels on a little car just make the ride bumpier and it makes it tramline too It was imported in 2000 so its not done too bad to only get that rust in 13years of our rubbish weather. I'll pop a pic up tomorrow of the wiring Cheers

I see you got yourself a car to keep you busy in the end . The plans do sound good I must say. All these MX5 threads are not giving me good thoughts though (as in buying one!).

Saw this for sale up on eBay a few months back and it had braces fitted and a hard to source rear spoiler; Looks like someone gave it some loving and a few mods! It was brought by a classic car spares and I was desperate for that spolier for my budget project seems like its gone to another silver motor!

I guessed it would have broken there! Have you got a soldering iron? I think that's how the tabs are attached to my hard top's heating element. Nice Jag btw

It was my OH that bought it from that ad and I bought it off him. The brace went as it restricted seat movement and the spoiler went just cause I wasn't too keen and I decided I wanted an FTO spoiler, did a swap with my mates MX5 with £20 my way for that spoiler lol (if he ever get's rid I'll give you a shout) I have a friend with a soldering iron so I'll get that borrowed, thanks for the tip ChasR, why are you put off? is it because there are so many of them? The Jag belongs to my OH's brother it did have a XJR supercharged engine in it a few months back! You can find the thread for it Here.

I was considering cheap wheel options and the one on your car are the best interms of weight and tyres are cheap but 185.60.R14 the early mk2 Golf gti steel rims are cheap and give it a 'little b-astard' vibe.

Those steels look cool. My other idea was to have some steels in gloss black but I figured the daisies would be best weight wise and I already have two sets

My other idea was to have some steels in gloss black but I figured the daisies would be best weight wise and I already have two sets true dat! every time I look at other wheels the daisies seem the best option and the consensus is that it handles good with slim '14's, keep them. P.S. clear out the cars drain holes if you haven't already done it.

The drain holes are ok at the moment, the rusty side is blocked but a replacement hole in the sill has been drilled for now the oother side appears to be working well. I couldn't resist sticking my Le Mans stickers on a little early... they were looking at me and saying plase stick me to the car... so tonight I did this !

Well a little update, in the last couple of days I have sorted out a pair of front wings and a door for £100 delivered, which will be arriving Saturday. Yay! But ill have to change the name lol And instead of the rollering I have found some one on here who has agreed to flock the whole thing for me . That will definitely be happening after le mans but the panels will be swapped over next weekend! Woo!

ChasR, why are you put off? is it because there are so many of them? The Jag belongs to my OH's brother it did have a XJR supercharged engine in it a few months back! You can find the thread for it Here.Far from it. I have driven one (a poor one at that!) and I have to say the appeal is all too easy to see. Friends tell me they are too camp but meh! So it's your brother who owns the Jag. Lovely car I must say. I see you got yourself a car to keep you busy in the end . The plans do sound good I must say. All these MX5 threads are not giving me good thoughts though (as in buying one!). Stop thinking about it and get get it bought!! Have you seen how many cars I have? Maybe when I downsize (and have more working cars (ATM only one of the moderns (and not the best modern out of all of those I have!) is working!). Ironically, the classics are fighting fit (Stupid work laws on age limits...).

Little update, off to le mans tonight so last night we changed the other front wing. The exhaust has been blowing so we had a look at that but it needs welding where it's splitting away from the middle box, so I stuffed some putty round it till we can do it on our return. It's also been overheating with this warm weather on duel carrigeways and motorways, I figured out only one cooling fan was coming on so I got my friend to rig the two together so they both come on and thats working nicely now. Changed the oil and filter and now it's good to go
