£175 on petrol so far, and I've not had it three weeks yet Thankfully, this is an exceptional month, with a lot of visiting relatives and stuff, so normal service should commence soon. Still love it though
As I said in the opening post, I'm thinking of changing the amber repeater indicators, as they jar with me a little, and replacements are cheap from Burton Power. But what to go for, clear to match the fronts or smoked to match the rear? Think I'm leaning towards clear but wouldn't mind hearing some other thoughts.
Clear but not the cheap ones ! they go white after a couple of years in the sun, i had a 9.99 pair on me Mk4 escort and 12 months later they were white and no very visable, ended up with more expensive ones that lastaed years and were still clear.
For some reason, the forum Search function doesn't like me at the moment, so I'm going to ask in here. I noticed that some curse word has scratched the car, rear offside door, driver's door and front wing. Nothing too deep or unsightly, no bare metal as far as I can see, thankfully. Anyone got a product they'd recommend to polish them out? I see AutoGlym paint restorer does consistently well in Auto Express tests...
The fuel computer has started behaving very strangely. After a run to Brighton and back last week, it was showing over 200 miles in the tank and 24.9mpg. But starting it up early yesterday, it was down to 175 miles. And as I drove the ten miles to work, it started dropping like a stone, to the point that it was reducing by a mile every few seconds and by the time I got to work, it was down to 112 miles. It then did the same on the way home but the economy was UP to 27.2mpg! It's done it again this morning (having shown 133 miles left when I started) so it thinks I've used over seventy miles worth of fuel to do thirty miles. Now I know these things are not the most accurate, but I assumed that they would run from the same sender as the usual fuel gauge and that seems to be working fine. I'm not overly concerned, but wondered if anyone had any idea what might be causing it to play up like this?
Just been in to the garage next door to get the MoT done, and the sills are shot to curse word and need replacing completely. They were advisory last year but didn't expect that they'd have deteriorated as much as they have. With no experience of welding, nor knowing anyone local that has, it looks like I'll have to get the garage to do it
