It pains me to do this, but this isn't a part of my future plans. I'm affectively shooting myself in the foot as I will NEVER have such a car with so little miles and in such good condition again. I bought this car in June 2012 and it had what I believe to be a genuine 15,900 miles on the clock... After my time with it, it is just over 17,000 miles.
You don't see many E23s anymore and for good reason, they rust for fun. This car was made in the year they were released, the only reason this has survived is because it is so low mileage and it has been stored incredibly well over the years. I have MOTs dating back to 1988 when it only had 1000 miles on the clock, it jumped up to around 15,000 by 1999 and it only went to it's MOT and back for the next 13 years... This car was an amazing opportunity for me and will be for the next owner.
Mechanically it is fantastic. Engine, autobox, brakes, rear axle, front axle, steering, suspension (although soft!) are all A1. As you would expect for such low miles.
The interior is very good. The front seats are mint, the rears have some sun damage/fraying as they tuck behind the rear fire wall. The carpet is spotless.
The shell on the whole is in very good condition. Although it is low miles, it has picked up some areas that need brief attention. The passenger side rear valance will need repair, and there is surface rust spot on the bonnet and on various spots on the shell, apart from that there is nothing serious. There is NO structural rust, and none to the floor or chassis. To be mint, this car would have to be resprayed, but it washed up nicely enough for me.
Being so old and unused I've had to do a bit of preventative maintenance. The water lines to the carb have been replaced with new hose. The flexible fuel lines from the tank have both been replaced with new lines. The main water pipes are in good enough condition but I have bought brand new ones from my local BMW dealership at a cost of around £150. These are currently unfitted.
Apart from that I have had the rocker cover polished, lowered the suspension and fitted BBS replicas. If you wish I will supply the car with the original steel wheels for a cheaper price. For £4000 you will get both sets. The exhaust has been professionally repaired due to a hole in the back box and the gearbox supporting mount needing replacement.

Any inspection is welcome, it is fully road legal and insured so I can demonstrate how good it is!
