Never been a huge fan of the MGB (I was an Alpine Boy back in the day. Mmmm - 1725ccs of Holbay goodness) but this is just such a nice tidy and straight car, that even I'd be happy to smoke around in it. Great roadtrip as well. Thanks! I'd never really considered getting an MGB but I wanted to buy an old English classic to bring home with me. It was the MGB GT, Mini or a Triumph GT6. The car has a few areas that need attention and the interior needs some love but it's a fun little runabout. Nice car and tale of motoring adventures - just a thought though - why not use white insulating tape to cover those small screw holes until the car paint is tidied up? That's actually a very very good idea. I will do that. I didn't even know that existed. Haha. Thanks! New page! That calls for pictures. I had a little drive one lazy Sunday. It's a fun thing to do once in a while. The sun was going down and I got to the perfect spot for a photoshoot. But I only had my phone on me. So, OK. Here:  The car was missing its sunvisors when I got it. I got some off a parts car in America. After paying... well, much more than I wanted for the parts + shipping I received them and found that the foam was ruined. I cut them open and put some stiff insulating foam into them...  and for that finishing touch got these stickers saying "Sol Ute, Sol Inne" made up. It's from the chorus of a very well known old song "Sol ute, sol inne, sol I hjertet, sol I sinnet, sol overalt." "Sun outside, sun inside, sun in the heart, sun in the mind, sun everywhere." I think it's clever anyway. My goal is for people to hum along to the chorus, getting cheerful, and then progressively getting curse word off (edit: getting "angry) as this very catchy song gets stuck in their heads. |

Myself, I'm just about to drive the 325i on a 6-hour trip back across the country on some pretty enjoyable roads. Good times.

It was a great experience, but I felt guilty for being so hard on the old girl! I reckon I'd have enjoyed it more in something cheap and cheerful - going to look into building a dirt cheap track car for the next time. It wasn't half as intimidating as I was expecting though, everyone else had a lot of respect and drove very well. E30?

Yeah, it's the E30 I posted on the previous page  I went out and took some pictures of the car the other night.       I edited one of the photos to give an idea of my future plans. Option one: Lowering front and rear, removing holes from the sills (welding and painting most likely).  Option two: Lowering front and rear, covering holes up with Union Jack sticker. Option two B (or not two B): Custom made roof spoiler (chrome lip for more bling).  Please let me know which option you prefer. Also please don't hate me for bastardizing your flag. |

Who'd have thought a 3 piece Japanese rim would look so perfect on a lump of British Leyland tin? You're clearly a bloke with vision! Please go with option 1; as others have said, the option 2 looks like a cross between a British Leyland cock-up and a Vietnamese 'resto'. Keep going; what a stunning car  |

Cheers for the feedback guys! I've been pondering the flag sticker idea for a while (the colours tie in nicely with the foglights and it's easier than getting the holes plugged properly) but after doing the photoshop I was fairly sure that option 1 was the only proper choice. But the "BL special edition" look was a little alluring if only because it was so tacky. And the more time you spend tinkering in Photoshop, the more likely you are to like your creation even if it's a bit curse word. I work on MGBs every day, don't like them much never wanted one. Saw the pic u just posted (pic 1) and I'm now on ebay looking for one.
Looks fantastic and i now see them in a new light.

On Saturday I put this pig into a barn for the winter. Will probably have to buy some parts for it this winter. Here's a phone photo I forgot I had (from the only proper roadtrip I did in the car this year). Summer dreaming. Can't wait for spring.  |
