I remember some folks on here have fitted bike silencers to their cars. retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=135075&page=1#1636886I'm interesting in what bike cans were used. Slip-on cans are obvious for easier fitment. I see some nice stock cans available at good prices, but they go on with those 3-point or 4-point flanges. I don't suppose there are matching aftermarket flanges available for welding into a custom system? I'm thinking of a pair of stock Kawasaki ZX-10 cans for the Scimega. Pics as thanks :

i fitted one on my bm when the backbox fell off, imo they do look stupid. butif you want to, recommend a slip on, i tried a 3 bolt one on my camper and it used to just strip the threads and fall off.

I used a Kerker one on my Skoda Favorit, welded on, sounded brilliant and removable baffle meant it was MOT friendly.

In most cases I'd agree it looks a bit cack, but they can work. Supertrapp cans look cool on the right kind of car. Some cars just seem to suit a normal bike can; Couple of things worth remembering though are that most aftermarket bike exhausts will only have absorption baffling i.e. the can will be lined with a perforated mesh surrounded with wadding. Thus they'll be very loud on most cars especially those with no central resonator or cat. Also, those with internal interference baffling may well not be flowing enough gas because they have small internal pipeways designed for like a 600cc engine or whatever.

Thanks. Fresh ZX210 cans are good value as they don't really suit any other bike. But the bolt-on flange makes them an awkward thing to fit. Slip-ons are probably the better answer.
I got your useful info on another thread too, LuckySeven. The Scimega will have a pair of exhausts (V6). The plan is for a can either side, with potential for another box on either side further forward if it proves too loud.
As for aesthetics, only the tail end will be visible poking out from under (or even through) the rear valance. I think it has potential to not look stupid.

I had one on a volvo 240, dead cheap, dead easy to fit and most of all they look the nuts [within reason]. I had a straight exhaust with only the bike can on it. I ended taking most of the packing wool out. Ignore the dislikers and go for it

you can get bolt on to slip on adapters. I used a guy on ebay and he made exactly what I asked for with a mikalor clamp for £30. Mine was made for a t25 but never got fitted.

He made statement that could only be an opinion, you pointed out that it was an opinion, he agreed that it was indeed an opinion.... I'm confused, why do you think he has a penis on his head? As for bike cans, I've got no problem with them as long as they're up to the gas flow needed for the engine they're being thrown on. Whether they look or sound good is completely down to the car. Love them on that Scimitar.

Sounds good so far, although not let it loose on the public roads yet. Not too loud, and the sound does fit with the car (i.e. it always was loud even on the stock silence due to the rear engine layout!). I like it!
