Got to admit thats why I very rarely get anyone else to do anything on my cars. Pretty much every time I have I ended up with more problems/hassles that I have had to sort out myself.

Reminds me of when I got the bearings pressed off my halfshafts - came back 3 hours later to find they hadn't got the right tool (a decent press) to get them off - so they simply smashed the curse word out of them with a chisel and hammer.....really messed the whole assembly up.
They then proceeded to charge me 160 quid for the pleasure. I had no choice (having not agreed a price) but to pay up and slide off home. Fortunately, it meant I could get the car going again.
However, they'd lost the two castle nuts (irreplaceable) that held the shafts in place. Could they find them? No. Did they admit to loosing them? No. Did I EVER see them again? No! Just bought another axle instead.......

aw tracksport did this to me.
spent 6k on my engine with them, it blew up after 4k miles if that, as he had linked up the catch tank in such a stupid way. he was there when it happened an didnt even seem bothered about it. told me , yer i can fix it but it will cost you.
so I'm doing it myself very slowly now, took engine apart and when i looked at the inlet manifold it was not even ported like i asked and paid for it to be. knob jockeys

Youre probably better off just taking it back and getting them to do it again, they`ll want you off their backs so they`ll probably do it quicker and take more care. Phone them at regular intervals and natter them as well, they`ll find you annoying and push you further up the queue just to be able to answer the phone and not hear your voice on the other end.
Talking about small claims and quoting fancy legal stuff will just make them think you are a arsey curse word and they`ll try to find a way to f*ck you off with your tail between your legs. Personal experience, from the other side, has taught me this by the way, not the car trade, but years ago when I used to sell mobile phones (when they were big, think trigger happy TV) and I learnt then that nothing makes you sort a f*ck up out better and faster than being nagged constantly about it. Give them the `box back and nag them like a 5-year old that wants an X-box.

Sounds like you got a bum deal. I Would go with the nagging, it's always worked for me especially if you phone every other day! If you decided to just do it your self and need any info talk to AC Dodd. He is a man like no other I have ever met. He often runs free workshops and is knowledgeable beyond belief! You can reach him via ML Motorsports : www.mlmotorsport.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26
