Yeah, this is maybe going to get locked as it's sort of about Lego. BUT AMAZING Lego builds of some OLD CARS. Have it. I was a big Lego fan as a kid and since we are all a bit creative (or mad) and like building cars, I figure a few of you might share that with me. I'll ease you in with a black cab and sneak some newer cars in as we go... Routemaster Toyota FJ40 With a Mack truck 2CV Here it is with a DS and a Beetle and a new Fiat Panda And since we've had an RNLI themed thread this morning: A 54 Hudson Hornet A late Karmaan and a Hebmüller Farmer Giles Mk5 golf Dutch Police car A '36 Merc 500k Special Roadster New BMW M roadster and TT VW Samba RAF Matador Refueler Old USAAF stuff Gallardo Spyder Err sorry that one was a bit new, have a 65 Fleetwood Next to a CROWN Vic (scale is about perfect) Couple school buses Scania More of the DS F40 MKVII Jaaaaag Porschii Shelby Cobra BOAT TAIL RIVIERAAAAA omnomnom 66 Galaxie A certain yellow Renault Traffic I'm sure most of us know quite intimately: 51 Mercury Sled 46 Mercury Sportsman Anyway, I could go on posting these all day, there are HUNDREDS of them including lots of newer stuff, tons of planes, tanks, trains, helicopters etc etc. Anyway, I think I'll leave the rest for you lot to post in this thread if you want to. Here is his Flickr account: www.flickr.com/photos/madphysicist/Hopefully it's not just me who finds his stuff amazing? ;D

The block fade on that sled would actually work really well full scale... I concur. Random fact of the day: in terms of sheer numbers, Lego is the biggest tyre manufacturer in the world. ;D

I know Ralph, MadPysicist, and if you think his cars are good you should see his planes... The cars are 1/22 scale the same scale as Legoland. Here's a view of his scooter; moped_chase by Country Photo (UK), on Flickr Random fact of the day: in terms of sheer numbers, Lego is the biggest tyre manufacturer in the world. ;D and Nokia are, or were, the worlds largest camera manufacturer.

Seems its easier to make a small version of the classic panda actually look like a panda, than it does to make a bigger version look like one... Small and very panda looking Big version, that looks odd and has had a roof chop

Some Lego cars from Legoland. Mostly German, I think due to proximity to Germany. Nothing like as good as the examples above but the scale was smaller to fit in with the Lego towns and cities. A 2CV A 2CV rear Generic Benz A Ducato? Terrible angle on a G-Wagen G-Wagen A series Landie. A Mustang. A Rascal. My Fave. Generic Rolls Royce. A Smart ForTwo. A Benz T1 minibus. A T4 bus? A modern Transit. Sorry.

A series Landie. Stage 1 V8 methinks. Series windows (inc split screen) so not a Defender, Series 3 lights and mirror location, but flat-front grille. How sad is that? Impressive that the level of detail is such that you can do that though.

Correction to my earlier post. Having spoken to Ralph (Mad Physicist) his models are actually 1/20, not 1/22 as at LegoLand. Choice of scale is down to availability of wheels, some of the LegoLand cars are built on a non-Lego chassis so they can move. Somewhere I've got some close up pictures of the LegoLand cars taken on a behind the scenes tour. He says "...I am glad a bunch of classic car aficionados appreciate my efforts..." A 1/22 Routemaster and Eddie Stobart lorries are next on his building list, but no more hot-rods

I despise 'new' Lego. This thread is the very epitome of what Lego SHOULD be about, using your creative skills to replicate something from very generic parts, whereas the new stuff is mostly proprietary pieces designed just to make to one thing on the box art.
