I posted this on the brickyard and got a right slating from a mod about it, was pretty disgusted tbh, hopefully its better received on here
this was local to me so thought i'd give it a go. Its come from a mate so know it was a good un.
came with lots of test and tax until the end of the year, and it was a whopping £105 fully comp inc breakdown to insure for the year ;D
once home, started looking closer, the inside stank to be honest, probably due to his two massive dogs
i'm not a dog fan so out came the steamer, stripped the interior out and gave it all a good wash, hoover and steam down to get rid of any germs/critters
the old porno style "camper" interior was removed
and a kitchen unit collected locally is going back in when its had a fit out, this needs a new top to make it look fresh though. ive got two cookers to choose from, just need to pick up a sink.
it came with a R n R bed that has seen better days, the hinges are good though so i'll cut the wood down, replace the broken parts and refit as a 3/4 to go with the kitchen unit
it has three lap belts in the rear already fitted, sadly doesnt have the belt fixings in the D pillar so these will need doing for 3 pointers soon.
can I still use 3 belts with a 3/4 bed or is it only possible to use 2 ?
it seems to have a bit of an identity crisis, its an original walkthrough, seems to be a panel van with not having the D Pillar belt fixings but also has the roof vents like the caravelles, would be nice to find out what it was originally.
Its been down to my mechanics for a rad flush, oil change and general check over, he was very impressed with the underneath, said it was rock solid, tbh the bodywork even in the usual places is rock solid with only one plate over the driver side step, most pleased

jobs to do (i'll tick these off for sanity once done)
1)remove horrid bucket seats and fit standard ones (bought already)
2)remove "plastic bullet" doorpins replace for standard
3)re wire amp to take rear suitcase speaker set up
4)source headliner or redo ply panels to actually fit the roof
5) fit full marine ply floor ready for lino
6) fit 3 point belt fixing points in D Pillars, belt fixings bought
7) new top on kitchen unit
8) heater doesnt work, think needs new blower (read its a pig of a job too with full dash out ) heater bought, just needs fixing in.
9) source or make decent rear doorcards, fronts are excellent, rears were homemade and look $hite - found a professional trimmer to completely redo the interior (watch this space!!!)
10) change passenger door handle, barrell comes out with key
11) Sourced a new turbo as the old one became poorly, just needs re fitting
when funds allow, a good tidy of the paintwork, i'm not even an novice in bodywork so not sure if it needs just a decent laquer coat or repaint, got a paint man who is an expert though.
all in all i'm happy with it and once the interior is sorted it'll feel and look much better.
oh and it doesnt hang about either ;D
