Going back to the topic at hand, what about using the metering head with just one big throttle body? It would surely have the advantage of better airflow. Also, what injectors would you use: Continuous Injection System' (CIS)-type? or the solenoid type? I'm guessing the CIS type, as they don't (necessarily) need any type of ECU to run them, unless you really want to use components from a KE-Jet system, which is a Pandora's Box you don't want to open. I did look into fitting a larger throttle body on the existing inlet manifold, but the amount of modification that would be needed to make it fit is nearly as much as building a new manifold from scratch. Plus I would still have the restrictive mercedes inlet manifold after the throttle body, and I'm talking about a throttle that is already 70mm let alone a bigger one! So the plan is to do away with the old manifold and build a new non-restrictive manifold, with a much smoother path for the inlet air. Hopefully the engine will then be able to breath properly. The downdraft k-jet air flow plate will be alowed to open directly into the plenum chamber, not miles apart as before. The engines idle air will be seperated from the throttles, running via the original idle air passegeways in the cold start system. The cis system should function as before, just that it will be less of a ristriction.

I've got hold of the rubber "cobra head" inlet boot from a porsche 924, this is a perfect fit onto the v8 airflow meter and should keep things period looking.

what do you think of using a v8 metering head to do a turbo conversion on an m103? Using the 2 extra injector lines for 2 additional injectors? I know it would be overfueling all the time, but I'm thinking of using it for drag only?

I've seen that done before, the 2 extra lines ran to a pair of cold start injectors mounted near the throttle body. They were wired to a hobbs switch so that they only open when there is boost pressure. Another way to do it, is to have the turbo suck air through the metering head instead of forcing air through it. That way the metering head can see alot of the extra air going into the engine. It does mean some moving of the cis components though.

Nice to know its been done. I was thinking of producing a suck through meter type instal. Wouldnt the spring on the flap need to be strengthened as it would be fully open most of the time! I was thinking of wiring up a what switch to opperate the additional injectors and rig it to switch when full boost is reached somehow. Anyway, I'm rebuilding my CIS head as i have it off the car. Speak soon.
