I am trying to persuade my brother that we need to lower the van.I'd like to airbag it & notch the chassis etc but he wants to keep it standard. Could someone please lower it to a good stance.I'd like to change the colour too but I'm unsure what to go for.....

This one is already mine I just want to see it lowered a touch. The whole body sits on a twin rail chassis with leaf sprung rear end.I want to remove body sort the chassis with bags etc & a nice set of classic american alloys...............

This thread did make me chuckle a little... Sorry... I can't p.shop, but I think it is good as is...
Are the Econolines quite soft in the corners? My old Astro was..
I also notice there are a few people, including myself, from Bristol on this thread!

You can also go "high" in sted of "low", these Econoliners vent to the South Pole:

had 5 mins befgore the school run so quick and nasty bagged van. If you aks me lowering does not suit dayvans, to much cack on them, lower roof vans without the body kits and tacky paint are much classier.

Airbagging is very expensive - especially on something that heavy. It would be a lot easier/cheaper to cut the front springs and flip the leaf springs. Although as others have said - it doesn't look that different lowered - maybe give it a trick paint job instead... a dark paintjob will help blend those windows in...

I think lowering would look nicer than bagged. eh? They would look identical! The difference would be that you can actually drive it on bags but hardslamming a day van would basically ruin it!

I have been meaning to do this for a while, and I had a spare few minutes this morning. It's not pretty, but keep with me. We can't all afford photoshop, but there is a free program, that I use called GIMP (Don't ask) It's very good, and it's free like I said. Hope the mods don't mind this, I've kept it short and simple. Go to www.gimp.org/ and click DOWNLOAD Click highlighted, download This page will come up, just wait 5-10secs and the RUN will appear, click that. Install GIMP, (I won't go into detail)the downloaded setup file will probably end up in your download area, run it, it takes a while. Start up GIMP (In your START MENU) Open the picture (File/open) Select the little lasso, and surround the vehicle like so. You want to select most of the sky roughly, but take care around the wheel arches. when you've got to the end of the lasso bit and it makes a dotted line, right click inside the dotted line and click edit/copy...then right click again and edit/paste.Change the TOOL to the 4 way arrow thingy. Then click and hold the selected bit, and move it about. Woooo! This will give you the basics to at least visualize lowering.
