I quite fancy a 3litre manual rwd to play with I think you should look elsewhere... afaik, they were all auto and 4x4. As for value? Not much, they're rare and difficult to find parts for. Not more than 1500 for a good one.

Hmmm... I even double checked myself with Wikipedia on that point I suppose if someone has gone to the trouble of fitting a manual box, they may have fitted a 2wd one. In which case pretty much all of what I previously said is useless. I'm interested to know more though.

They did make manual ones, but they're very rare. They are all AWD though. I wouldn't advise RWDing it, we have a customer (I work for SUbaru) with a RWD 3.0 Legacy (basically the same thing) and it has no end of issues.

Cheers captainwow , I was assuming it was rwd , didnt think about it being AWD , Any ideas of its worth , I quite fancy it but don't want to offer to low and offend him or to high and rip myself off .

Will Holman (editor of Practical Performance Car) runs one -or tries too. Doesnt speak highly of it, frankly, and its usually broken -according to his write ups

I recently sold my slightly scruffy low mileage SVX for £850, which was what I paid for it last year. I thought this was cheap and you usually see the odd one on ebay for £1500-2000, but I don;t think these are shifting. As far as I was aware they were all auto and 4wd. Manual conversions are possible using Impreza boxes, but I didn't think any were done by Subaru.
