You can see the owner/builder in the second pic, red shirt, slightly hungover peering out of the tent... IIRC he said it was just over 500bhp, but hes since rebuilt it with some other goodies.

I have to say, I think those Opel Manta A's have got to be the best looking car around. Ever. I adore them and I'm not even really sure why, there's just something about them. Anyone trade a C110 for a Manta A?

Anyone trade a C110 for a Manta A? What the hell's a C110?(excuse my ignorance!) Manta A just finished on e-bay for £521. Fitted with a Cav SRi 130 lump. Someone got a bargain! That blue A-series has got twin turbo's on it now too, apparently it was " getting a little boring". Nutter? Nah. The guy's bloody psycho!!! ;D

Mine comes with a 2.4litre Straight 6 OHC with Twin Hitachi SUs mated to a S130 5spd box, R180 3.545 independant rear end and 15x6.5" Longchamps.
What powers the Manta A?

*cough* S'posed to be a whopping 80bhp! Would be happy with that at the moment though. TBH though, it has had a fair bit of use in the last 18 months. It's now tucked up safely for winter in the garage. It's completely a original 1600s and I don't know if I want to keep it that way as they're getting pretty rare, or go through with my master plan (to be announced shortly! ;D)

I'm almost tempted to say "keep it that way" but.. that would be tremendously hypocritical of me, because the C110 isn't exactly thick on the ground and I've no plans to keep it standard. Infact, it's already a different colour, has a different intake, wheels, grille, fender mirrors, dash and there's no carpet. Or Stereo.
And it's going to be caged, engine swap, flared, lowered, stiffened, and thrashed the curse word out of.
All in good fun though! ;D

Kyteler - if I had a Manta A, I'd SWIM to NZ, towing it on a raft if it meant a swap for your C110. I love it I never saw the 'aftermath' pics after your smash - did it all get sorted okay? *n

Yeah, she's back. Took several months mind you.
Not an ideal fix but it's definately better than a bloody great dent in the side. It also helped persuade me to not be so worried about modding the fook out of it. Just a time and money thing now.
Think gunmetal grey, black flares, lowered on 10" wide rears and 9"wide fronts with front lip and proper boot spoiler. RB, twin turbo powered goodness.
Shorter term, think L28ET powered goodness. (2.8 litre SOHC EFi Turbo)
Took it to an open track day the other day and discovered a horrendous flatspot in the carbs, pulled over, waited for the race to finished, toodled into the pits, popped the bonnett, couldn't see anything out of the ordinary... gave it a wee rev.. *pop!* frost plug blew out. That was the end of my day.
Replaced the frost plug the next day but still need to fix the damn carbs, will get them tuned, I assume that's all it is, they haven't been tuned in forever and they used to rev as high as it takes for you to cringe at the harsh metallic noise.
