Hello everyone long time no see!
I am about to buy a house and need to move on a couple of motors to make some space/money.
First off is my Peugeot 104. I brought this car off here about 2 years ago and expected to just use it for a cheap run around until the MOT lapsed. However when i went to pick it up i couldn't believe what good nick it was in (bodywork wise at least!) It had next to no structural rust so therefore i decided to make a bit of a 'quickie' project out of it.. a year later id managed to finish the bloody thing!
Bodywork wise there has been very little welding done. Only a few small patches. The wings were a little rusty when i got the car so those were replaced and the whole underside of the car was stripped, cleaned of any surface corrosion, re painted and extensively rust treated. Body work wise the only real problem is the paintwork. Obviously being a red car the re-painted wings, sills and boot lid are a slightly different shade to the original faded paint. If you want it mint you will need to do a respray but a decent cut and polish will make a good deal of improvement too i should think!
As you can see the car now sits on a set of ultra rare (and cool) Techno 13x6 rims. I bought these straight from Japan and I'm a bit loathed to let them go but i don't really have anything else i could fit insted. The hubs have been re-drilled from the original 3 stud pattern to 4x4.5" PCD. The tyres are nearly new, less than 1000miles,. If you think the price is a bit high then these are the reason!
Onto the engine and things start to get interesting. The original 950cc engine was dire so i went to great lengths (I literally drove it back from Newquay!) to get hold of a rare 1360cc twin carb engine from a 205 XT. These engines are not easy to come by especially in 5speed/twin carb guise. They are also quite tricky to fit into the 104 as the 5 Speed box is bigger and theres all sorts of subframe modifications that need to be done..
The engine itself has had a brand new clutch and a full service, it only had about 50k on the clock when it was on the 205 so no need to do any more. Theres also a genuine K&N filter. The exhaust and manifold is totally custom made myself (don't worry I'm quite good at that sort of thing )
Ive driven the car for about 6 months since the conversion and I'm pretty happy with how it drives. Its quick and has been totally reliable too.
Last off the suspension. The car has coil over conversion on all 4 corners. Aluminium top-mounts on the rear, adjustable camber bottom arms on the front. It also has all new ball joints and rubbers. Even all nicely painted!
MOT is untill mid June and i see no reason wy it wont go straight through another.
No Tax at present but the car is insured so i can tax it for you if required.
Id like to see £1350ono which is barginous in my opinion. Lovely unique little car! Please Email adamslater86@gmail.com or phone 07813469709.
