Hi everyone, Boring thread, but there was a thread a while ago about a mk1 golf. The thread was structured around the fact that it was the first real euro look golf in the uk, built using readily available parts to complete the look, before the common euro look parts were available. I think it had revolution wheels, really clean smoothed engine bay, cant remember the colour Anyone got a link or remember the title? Heres some cool euro pictures for your troubles Thanks

the one that springs to my mind is danny allens.
bright orange , revs with stretch, smoothed/chromed engine bay, mega detailed, and done a long time before it was 'fashionable' over here.

I remember the first time I saw that car and thought it was such a masterpiece. It's stood the test of time, shows how far the whole 'stance' situation has come though.

Stunning car. I wonder what 'category' (you know how we all like to pigeon hole things these days) it would fall into now? Race look?

It depends whether you mean euro look water cooled VW or just any car. Euro style was a term banded around much earlier to describe low, smooth, pastel painted cars usually.

Well this PVW feature is a decade old, I'm not sure how long the car had already been around for though.

I've no idea who had the first euro look golf in the uk, I rekon i'm probably too young to remember. I would guess that there were euro style golfs in the uk, back in the early to mid 80s. They might not be considered very euro by the youth of today though

I think I can beat that!! (Date that is, not Danny's fabulous quality of work on his Mk1) lol ;D My "Euro" look Mk1 was featured in Fast Car in 1994 (about) lowered, twin 40 dellorto's, 13" and had a Berg-cup'esque tube torque centre exit exhaust too! heres a pic from many moons ago.. It even managed to get a "slight" showing on the "GTi Magic" video

Love ranger bobs green one there. I think he definitely got the look of the German scene of the time. Small wheels minimal body kit but nice details like the painted bumpers. There were a few others from around that time. Remember this was pre coilover days, so getting low on 13s wasn't easy or cheap!
