Ronin and French Connection are fantastic films that are enhanced by the car chases. No way are they defined by them, not even close unlike the Italian Job where the car element to the rest of the film is about 50/50. And that goes for the Blues Brothers as well... For me, Ronin is all about the car chase(s), it's the only reason I bought the DVD, and I'd wager that's what most people remember about the film. Then you're missing out; Ronin is one of John Frankenheimer's last great films (he also directed Grand Prix). And Natascha McElhone's pretty memorable in it as well.

Yes I do appreciate the film now, but it was the chases that were instrumental in me buying it in the first place, also without them would the film be as memorable? The DVD is great with the alternative endings, and the making of documentaries. Got Grand Prix as well. Probably strectching the definition but in terms of films defined by cars what about the BMW short films directed by top flight directors (including Frankenheimer ) and featuring Clive Owen. The film with Madonna and a M5 is a classic. www.onlygoodmovies.com/good/movies/the-hire-a-look-at-the-influential-bmw-series/

Great movie! Forget about it, although it is about a bike.

Wages of Fear Never heard of that, just read up about it, sounds very intruiging although my nerves couldnt even handle the plot premise! not sure how Id deal with the film!
