received with thanks dude, excellently packaged! Maybe a bit too excellent for the money, the cardboard envelope, zip lock type bag, printed pages etc must all add up.
good luck once again with the venture, you should take a small stand to the next gathering/car shows/goodwood revival, and offer a try before you buy thing with a mirror, a large tub and some handwipes, at this pricepoint the comedy value alone would make people buy a tin (i hope!)
My moustache isnt as impressive as it used to be, but it gives you a rough idea. I'll be growing it longer again, so give it a month or 2 and it'll be longer and thicker - I'll take more pictures then!
I had company/supervision.
A quick comb & twiddle...
And the stickers I've got - its a touch filthy, but you get the idea.
Received mine too, a couple of days ago actually but life's had one of those 'everything go mental for 36hrs' type things that happen occasionally, so not had chance to post on here!
I'll second (or third) the excellent packaging and professional appearance to the whole thing, really superb. I took photos as I was opening it all and was going to post a few on to show everyone, but I think they've got the idea now ;-) The product itself it brill too, lovely to use and smells great! Sticker going on my car today, pic to follow! Cheers Jack/ Jamie!
'78 Mk1 Cavalier Coupe - I wish I had a pound for every time someone told me "my dad used to have one of those"!!
I am extremely impressed by the logo, packaging and even the Ebay listing, it lists and explains everything which although seems obvious many don't get right.
Remember...... Grizz is your Friend ;D he has a wealth of quirky cool and inventive ideas ive found reading his numerous posts on here, others have suggested equally excellent ideas, the apps one is/could be a real money maker with little input/effort once the developer had created the right programme/app
I noticed you list international shipping. have you or are you planning on listing this on ebay.com and ebay.de to name two???
reason I ask is ive stumbled on a wierd but interesting programme on ITV4 called Whisker Wars which follows various chaps who compete in beard wars, from styled to freestyle to full beard natural, its a bit trippy to watch but like I say interesting.....point being there is obviously a HUGE market for this stuff in the States and Germany.
As for branding, the logo is simply fantastic. An instant brand success that I can think of is Gumball, an expensive car rally where the "common man" has no chance of entering but how much merchandise has this catchy/cool logo sold in stickers, T shirts etc, i'd guess alot worldwide. so although the wax is the primary atm, i'd hazzard a guess the sticker/logo will be competing for success not too far away.
I sadly have to be clean shaven for work daily, the most growth I get is my four days off so have no real need for the wax. However I love the tin, love the logo and love the overall feel of the company as you've portrayed it on here so i'm buying a tin and in 20yrs when you're the top brand I can claim I have a "vintage" tin of fat jacks wax
Cheers chaps You've all given me so many good suggestions and tips, its been great.
My item is listed as available worldwide, so it appears on every version of ebay out there - already sold to Australia and USA in my first week.
I'm really proud of the logo. I'll go rummage through my paperwork and show you the very very original hand-scribbled version later, and you can see how its not that dis-similar to the finished article.
I'm going to be perfecting the next 2 additions to the range over easter, and have lots of ideas already lined up, so fingers crossed.
Its been a lovely steadly trickle of orders so far - significantly more than I ever expected for the first week. Its not very british, but I'm incredibly proud of myself. Its taken <4 weeks to go from idea/experimentation to selling quite well!
I think I'm going to give it 4 weeks on ebay, then start the Tshirt/Hoody printing research (well I've got a few quotes already), and look at other things.
Good branded moustache comb is a definate necessity, going to crack on with that bit asap.
recieved mine today, and i too was impressed with the packaging. cheers bro. ive been plugging you at work with the guys who usually do the movember thing, so hopefully they'll look, and maybe place a few more orders. its great to see it seems to be going well for you.
I've been keeping an eye on this and I'm so happy to see it going well. Unfortunately I'm probably going to have to limit myself to a sticker purchase due to a genetic fail meaning I can't grow more that sparse stubble haha, however have you thought about a hair equivalent? The reason I say this is because Rockabilly fashion and particularly hair is rapidly becoming a big deal, I myself am growing my hair out at the moment to eventually get to that kind of style and obviously a pretty heavy duty wax is needed to achieve it, maybe a market that could be work conquering too?
Unfortunately, access to this particular listing or item has been blocked due to a Paris commercial court decision that bans trade of certain authentic perfumes and cosmetic products on eBay because of French selective distribution laws. eBay is appealing this ruling but is nevertheless required to enforce it. We are blocking your viewing in an effort to comply with this court decision. Regrettably, in some cases, we may prevent users from accessing items that are not within the scope of the decision because of limitations on existing technology.
Hey, i don't post on here often, but this is a really good idea! I don't have a tash but if i did i would buy fat jacks for sure. The hair wax would be a good idea if you could produce that too and name suggestion if you don't mind, "Fat Jacks Do Wax" Good luck with the whole thing, seems to be taking off very well
The nearest rival on eBay has cut their price by half to claw back some sales. I had a good think and discussion with a few people this morning about whether to fight a price war, or let brand quality and service win the war instead.
So I've decided not to drop the price, and will be keeping things dignified and playing the game fairly.
The other seller has barely sold any since I appeared on the market - so I've obviously had an impact. The business side of me says 'blow them out the water', but I'm trying to be ethical and fair - You don't get rich being fair in business, but you at least don't feel like a complete curse word.
I've priced my product at what I think is a fair price point, considering the production/packaging/postage costs. I wont be increasing my prices come the April postal prices rise, as I can just about absorb that cost.
Tshirt quotes have come in, and they arent too bad. I've been promised my new completely functional and working website over Easter, and will be hitting the promotional push hard.
You guys have been great though. Top suggestions all round.
Very cool to see someone set something like this up. Good luck with it all. Are you thinking of selling at events? Anywhere where there is a congregation of facial hair, you have a captive market. Wheels Day with all of the beardy rodders. Brighton Burn Up Goodwood Revival - in fact, nearer the time, just add that term into your listings on eBay to get more hits. Hipster music festivals etc..... Go on tour with The National (band) I've never seen so many young men with beards at their gigs.....

My stickers and complimentary pot of Tash Wax arrived this morning. Many thanks....
It's refreshing to see the items packaged so nicely and I reckon this is an important step in return sales/repeat business. It's not about the money at this level, it's about the way the product makes you feel....and you've nailed that side of it. Lowering your prices cheapens your product. Stick to your guns, keep the prices as they are, keep expanding the brand and you'll do well.
I have LOADS of ideas to suggest but don't want to inundate you. Some are to do with product expansion, some are branding ideas, some are marketing ideas etc.... I can send you a PM if you want to hear any of them?
I am so happy to see this working and the fact the other seller has lowered his prices is a clear indication that you are onto a good thing. Keep the brand strong and the price will not be an issue.
