Hey guys, yep sorry, I wound it up last year. It was a mental few years, helped me buy a new house, cars, pay off plenty of mortgage etc.
The market for wax was saturated beyond belief, combined with demand dropping 95%, I was one of the few who insured/tested their product properly, and with sales of wax falling through the floor I gave up. I was selling 200+ hair combs/brushes for every tin of wax I was selling towards the end.
By the end of trading nearly all of my business was exporting other peoples products around the world, because the manufacturer wouldn't - I was turning over ridiculous sums of money with tiny margins, and after 60 grands worth of products went AWOL for 2 weeks in transit I just didn't enjoy it anymore. (It did turn up, intact, finally)
It was a real learning curve, and having given Ebay and Royal Mail over 70 grand each, and HMRC an awful lot too, it's quite relaxing not doing it anymore.
Anyone who wants to make their own, I'm happy to share a recipe that'll give you a product similar to what I used to produce.
