Sorry if its not retro enough, but this is my all consuming project for the last 18months I took off the road in September to do a few mods, mainly because the engine was smoking and getting tired, all thought it still was pulling 245bhp on the rollers, not bad as they only have 225 standard. Up she goes Open wide I hope we can remember were it all goes! Its out! Ready to be pulled apart Head is off Found 11 thou of wear the middle of the bores, thats were the oil was going! Bottom end stripped down Bare block, sent away for a rebore of +0.5mm, and a good clean Ported head, with Piper fast road cams installed Sorry, forget to get some pictures of the forged pistons and H section rods All clean, and built up Bit more done, no, I haven't painted the cam belt, its a Gates racing kevlar belt Turbo of choice! A Garrett GT3071R with cut back blades, and metel caged bearings Fitted to the engine Gearbox on, the gearbox has a Gripper plate type LSD fitted and a 850R clutch. Uprated anti-roll bar, 25mm vs. standard 19mm Start of the 3" exhaust downpipe Subframe painted Engine build done, time to move to my unit Lots more pictures to post, please let me know what you think ;D Paul

This is brilliant.
How much power are you hoping for with the rebuilt engine?

This is brilliant. How much power are you hoping for with the rebuilt engine? A similar built engine to mine, got 451bhp on its last rolling road day, but, I'll be happy with a safe and solid 350+

Engine as I got it back from the builders Where to start with the pipework! Cue lots of pictures of blue tubing! 3" air intake to the turbo Intercooler to throttle Turbo to intercooler ISCV and re-circ pipework What it should look like, once its been welded up Made new air box, after moving the battery The batterys new home New wiring Moment of truth, this is the first time its been turned over on the key in 18 months New oil pressure gauge, I have 2 others to fit, but not where the gauge is in the picture New exhaust, 3" system with 1 silencer, at the moment Needs adjusting yet Thanks for looking Any comments?
