my two kids need to practice their reading. so yesterday we adjourned to the study and while they took turns reading me Fantastic Mr Fox I did this, as I listened. as it came out of the packet an hour or so later, with some Hotwheels rims pillaged from the box of bits, I had this

unfortunately not, I had to shorten the axles to get them to fit into the body. so I just superglued the wheels onto the shortened axles then glued them onto the new chassis I built out of some 2mm thick card. I think if id spent more time I could have got it rolling though. I wasnt concentrating properly cos I was enjoying the story. ;D

Sorry to Hijack but you`ve inspired me to try my hand at modifying 1/64 scale ;D I started with a 50p Charity shop Transit van, I removed the roof beacon (still got to fill the holes in the roof) Its only in mockup stage at the moment but is fitted with gold 5 spokes from a Hotwheels car and lowered as far as i can go without the chassis dragging to much Cheers Adrian

nice work adrian. id be tempted to see if i could rub the sign writing off with a cotton bud and some T cut, detailing the lights and such then leaving it as is. as for the chassis of my bus, i made a fresh one from some thick card i had lying around. il get some pics up when i get chance. I'm currently sourcing bits to use to mod a matchbox cadillac. struggling to find suitable rims. il post pics once its done.

Top work, wonder if the base from the early '70s Matchbox Camper would fit,may give you more scope for axles.

I'm currently sourcing bits to use to mod a matchbox cadillac. struggling to find suitable rims. il post pics once its done. I know what you mean, Nice rims for 1/64 scale are almost impossible to get,I think the Hotwheels range has the best choice and Asda sell the cars for a £1 so worth a look. As for the paint work i put the shell in a caustic soda bath tonight so will have to paint it now, Cheers Adrian
