Thanks VND! I'm hopefully going to see Dr Prop tomorrow about getting a prop shaft made as mine broke exactly where you said it would! I'd make one myself but I don't want the car to double as a big vibrator from an unbalanced prop haha This: Lives here:

Hey, what did you do to mate the engine to the bellhousing? Were the splines the right size?

I made up an adaptor so that i could use the front volvo prop and the metal housing along with the toyota bell housing. Having the big metal adaptor meant i had something to weld my engine mounts too and make sure the car doesnt blow away as its quite heavy! You can see it in this picture from when i was testing the engine: I used the volvo clutch disk in the toyota clutch and it worked quite well. Didnt slip at all, and was stronger than the prop shaft!! I'm changing the spare little prop that goes into the clutch so that its Toyota one end and volvo the other so i can use a Toyota clutch disk, but ill stick some pictures up later as they are on my phone. The splines have a 1mm difference in diameter and i think they are the same spline count ( but I'm not 100% sure ) I might have been able to get away with just sticking the Toyota clutch disk on, but didn't want to risk it

Cool dude. If your custom prop wobbles AT ALL. Stop the car. Jon-Ovlov got a custom one piece done proffesionally, it had some machining fluid left inside and it brutall sod-o-mised his gearbox. Seen here: www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=10807&start=420Theres also a lot of good prop advice on that thread (which you may have already read, sorry!)

Jeeze, Poor Jon-Ovlov! I've not seen that thread before, or might have just read bits whilst searching for stuff, but I've asked for my prop to be a one piece design with no sliders! The engine is held in with rover v8 mounts so they are rock hard, so i cont think ill have to worry too much about any movement. Two of the original Volvo ones were snapped when i took the engine out!
