Comments:
i picked this car up probably about December 2010 after a drunken late night browse through the for sale section on here. it had been for sale for a while and not had a lot of interest so i pm'd the seller a cheeky offer and a few days later we set off down to south Wales to collect it
pic from add
on the way home
and at home
it was at this point i realised i had no use for it lol, i loved the way it looked and i knew i had got a bargain as it had had a lot of time and money put in to it in the past and was in surprisingly good condition. i knew that i wanted to make this one into a keeper but i had enough on my plate car wise so it was tucked up in my lock up until i had more spare time
couple of random shots of it on the power techs before i started ripping it apart (that smoke is the HG begging for mercy
Fast forward about 6 months and I had pulled it out of the garage and started work on it. I modified some mk1 golf coilovers to fit, sold off the leather seats and fitted corado fronts with genesis rears, 13x7-8 power techs. I also converted it to a 1.4 16v afh running standard afh injection/management
Engine bay with 1.4 afh
Sitting pretty on 13x7-8 bcw powertechs
During a visit to Santa pod (posted a best 1/4 mile time of 16.2)
Since then I've built a 1.6 16v hybrid engine consisting of afh head with avy (polo 6n2 gti) bottom end with is still running on the afh injection. I haven't got any photos of that but outwardly it doesn't look any different to the 1.4
I've also got rid of the powertechs in a deal for some novatech itb's, omex 500 management and pretty much everything else I need to run it on the polo bar an inlet mani
I'm building a second hydrid for these to run on tho but this time making it a high compression unit
I've also just picked up some more wheels, 14x7-8 rh cups, couple of photos from trial fit
Gonna need a bit of arch flaring and a mess around with the c spanner to get it sitting how I want it mind
Well that's it for now, hope you like
