Serious update time!!! Updates Well first we removed the original engine and gearbox (was a heavy lump) We then assembled the CA engine I.e. fitted flywheel, clutch, spigot bush and gearbox Then did a little chopping, well grinding to be fair:- Test fit of the CA, fits quite well using rover v8 mounts its perfect S13 rad and Range Rover P38 intercooler works quite well together Next on the list:- Fabricate the engine mounting points Add some strengthening beams to the new mounts and front subframe. Geabox Mount Intercooler pipework Intercooler mounts Coolant/Heater pipes V-Band elbow/downpipe Exhaust Wiring Loom Swirl pot Fuel hoses Wiring Propshaft Gear Shift Clutch Line + a few more bits I'm sure ;D Many thanks go to the wizard dan for hard work so far

oddly, One of the people on here. "Mystery Machine" used to be a teacher at my school ;D Wait...what?? I started reading this thread with excitment then spotted ^ THAT ^ comment! It wasn't me, honestly. I admit to nothing. It's all lies! (I hate to ask, but which of my poor unfortunate students were you??) Great car, great build and I look forward to seeing more progress. A Sprint on Revos with a CA18DET. What's not to like? Bookmarked.

HAHA! James Deacon was in your form group - Terrible student had to work much harder in the real world to get somewhere! you had to split me and david butler up as we were a terrible influence on each other. You had a blue AW11 which I loved seeing outside the school. Had a red aw11 for a couple of years Fair play not sure how you managed it there so many bible bashers

James - I remember you very well (little brother of Hannah yeah??)
Form times were great! Butler was a nightmare, especially when you were mixed up with him - I'm pretty sure you two were responsible for my first grey hairs. I think I even had to talk to your parents to try and keep you two apart. Oh the memories!! I miss you lot but I don't miss the place itself, not in the slightest.
Glad to hear you got an MR2 - cracking cars. Your Dolly is going to be something pretty special - I'm really looking forward to seeing how this progresses. Keep up the good work (that last bit sounds like the end of a school report! LOL)

Futher update. Been speaking to dan about problems and Solutions Fuel supply - Lift lump ( facet) - Then a Jaguar XJS High Pressure pump A swirl pot and then a return to the tank. Battery should fit in the bay fine - They are a small lump No need for a header tank- its built into the nissan rad Misses the BMC Fine. Sump needs to be shorter by 1cm !!!! It will be around 210bhp @6000rpm and max tourqe 190lbft at 4500 RPM with stage 1 chip Steeting coupling is right out the way no issues there. Management ( standard nissan) pig stupid. Loads of sensors but it all goes into the ECU and the ECU itself just needs live and ground and switched live. The only tight spot is the turbo elbow. Gonna go with a V- Band coupling ( comes off the turbo and then down into a 90 degree bend and it should clear with some jigging about - handbrake has had to move back about 2cm otherwise it gets in the way of the prop coupling. The engine is iron block with ally head ( like the sprint engine ) Fans - Twin rover 800 fans ( massive )

More fettling was in order to get the engine sitting right One snag we had was the actuator/turbo was fouling on the suspension turret so we done a little chopping and molding:- Before (albeit on the opposite side) After:- Trial (the engine still needs to be raised up 15mm yet:- In without support of the hoist:-

Well I'm now £370 ligher Just bought these SHINEYS!!! Trick speedo that works off the prop bolts to work out the speed - couple of adjustments on the back and you work out a calcuation bobs your uncle. And then I bought the matching rev counter otherwise I wouldnt be able to cope with them not matching! I don't mind - They are retro and shiny

As for the mount, the gearbox one is 6mm plate with a 4mm angle plate to keep strength Mounts onto the original dolomite holes too The engine mounting plates are 6mm with 5mm right angles, probably ott but I like to over spec if I can Also the engine mounting plates are getting supports added from underneath to help burden the load from the front of the subframe
