hey all, after lurking on here for a long time and not realy contributing much I thought id show you my latest purchase. my past retro list has only realy consisted of minis and volvos. currently without a retro in my life I thought I was in need of something new. a quick search of ebay purely by chance, and I rolled across this advert: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-1000-KP30-/110749468893?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item19c92ec8ddan honest advert with a few pictures, and after a chat with the seller (at 7am in the morning) I decided to get a view, before deciding to part with my cash. ive always had a hankering for a KP30, as I love the look of these quirky little cars, and we all know how they can look (racer86) with a little love. so after finishing work early, I flew down to sunny kent (and it was hot today ) to view this: I was chuffed, I know its a lot of work and many peopole would have walked away, but having worked as a metal fabricator in a past life, I felt I could give this a go. even with my pal telling me "nah mate it needs loads of work are you mental?, you'l never do that" I do love a challenge ;D being as parts for these are near enough non existant, I'm going to be fabricating alot of the panels, and repair panels from other cars will also be used and adapted. all the rot seems to be mostly cosmetic, although there is a little corrosion to the n/s/r wheel arch and floor. this will probably be the most challenging. hope you all enjoy the build, and any help that you lot can throw my way will be much appreciated. thanks for reading.

I'm soooo pleased to see this is being saved! Saw it a couple of days ago & had thoughts about it myself, but Mrs GW would kill me & I've got enough old Toyotas at the moment.
Best of luck with it & if you need any mechanical bits, let me know.

hey, thanks for the words of wisdom. ill be keeping this pretty standard mechanically, although illl be on the hunt for a 5k engine at some point as i want to keep it as original as possible, and some bigger stoppers. if my search for parts dosn't go to well then possibly a pinto engine and trans, although thats a long way off yet...

Hey Buddy, ive in-boxed you a number of an elderly gentleman whom I purchased another KP30 from a few years back. He had a load of bits in another garage and wanted them gone.. Give him a call I'm sure or hoping he may have some useful stuff in there. It may be a bit far but the stuff is all free :-) could be worth a trip....
Good luck

If anyone happens to come across a grill for a KP30, can you let me know? Mate of mine who bought the grey one off here last year is looking for one.

Cool to seen another one being rescued! Although i'm a bit far away, i do have some parts left over if you can't find what you need in the UK.
Funny coincidence. I bought a 5K engine not to long ago from Steve Evans.
