I've been after a E23 since I sold the last of my E32s back in February, since then I've had a 7 series shaped hole in my fleet! Mark (MIB's) bought this very car a few months ago which made me very jealous, but when he put it up for sale me made me an offer I couldn't refuse... The lock barrel was busted and I couldn't get the steering lock off, so I couldn't really move the car... hence the poor lighting/photos! I think this maybe my favourite BMW backends, I normally hate rear spoilers on BMWs Plush 80's interior And a sign of things to come? Mocked up next to the car, needs smaller profile tyres Apart from a slight crease in the driver's side wing and a minor bit of surface rust on the same wing, the car's mint. I have a set of 16 x 8J BBS and a staggered set of 17 x 8.5J and 17 x 10J Hamanns (as pictured above). The car will go lower, naturally. I hope to fab up some coilovers since they are nonexistant for these cars, but I might have to trim the springs in the mean time... The diff is unfortunately open, but probably not for long. It needs an MOT, which I believe Mark tried to get so it has a very recent failure sheet which only needs a caliper unseizing and an indicator bulb... Edd (the elusive Bodieandoyle) swapped the ignition barrel for one from my old slammed E28 I bought back for spares, so now I can actually move the car! I had a quick blast around the farm - it's great!

Glad you're happy Rob and apologies to those of you that missed out.
It really is a cracker of a car but my Mrs is far happier now her 2002 can go in the workshop and I can squeezethe M3 in next to it - just.
I think the BBS will be better tbh although both styles are endowed with heaps of win.

Thanks guys . I got stuck into it tonight, so some proper updates shortly... I'll be whipping the struts off shortly so any braking problems can be rectified then, cheers Mark!

One of the main dealers round my way (Williams) used to put the badge on upside down to form a W. It didn't seem particularly mad at the time.

I forgot to point out that it is a very nice car from my favourite era of BMWs.

Some better photos... Introducing the 1985 728i - the finest luxury sedan money can buy. Do you wear a really loud suit? Do you have a portable phone? If you own more than one company and think Duran Duran really ought to tone it down - then you can relax in absolute comfort before boardroom meetings. Be all that you can be - put on your power-tie; and get behind the wheel of a new BMW 7-series today.

I've toyed with the idea of fitting an 80's/90's car phone in this beast, I think they run on normal sim cards? Back on this tonight, can't wait.

I've done some work on the struts after the last few weeks. Original struts I won't be needing most of the struts Golf VR6 Weitec coilovers Stripped the coilies down, cut the Golf mounting brackets off and cleaned them up. I'll be using the coilover bodies mounted onto the remaining strut I decided to make cut even more away from my suspension, the shock can now slide down into the original strut through the coilover body Nice thick sleeve to keep everything in place Whacked the welder up to the max The end result
